Stroke
A stroke is a medical emergency that occurs when blood flow to a part of the brain is blocked or a blood vessel in the brain bursts. There are several types of stroke, each a serious medical emergency that requires treatment as soon as possible.
Types of Stroke
Ischemic Stroke
An ischemic stroke occurs when a blood clot or fatty deposit blocks a blood vessel in the brain, cutting off the oxygen supply and rapidly damaging brain tissue.

This occurs when a blood vessel in the brain bursts causing bleeding in the brain. The blood can increase pressure on brain cells and damage them.
